제 목 : Geforce2 MX200 (32M) 설치 삽질기..

intel 버전에서 지원안하는 비디오 카드죠.
저는 세장짜리 solaris8 x86 CD를 가지고 있습니다.
(software CD 1, 2, laguage cd(?) 1장)

우선 솔라리스를 설치합니다.
비디오카드 설정은 kdmconfig의 제일 위에서 두번째에 있는
16컬러 640x480 가상으로 800x600까지 지원을 선택합니다.
거의 흑백인 화면으로 첫번째장 설치를 마친후 재부팅..

여기서 문제가 생기기 시작합니다.
재부팅후부터는 webstart를 실행시켜서 설치를 계속하는데
16컬러에서는 webstart가 실행이 안되기때문에
설치프로그램이 보이지는 않지만 에러를 내고 아무것도 안하게됩니다.

흑백의 X에서 마우스 오른쪽 버튼을 눌러 메뉴중에
유틸리티던가 정확하게는 기억이 안나지만..
서브메뉴중에 콘솔 or 터미널을 띄워서

# kdmconfig

를 실행합니다.
여기서 일단 16컬러 말고 엉뚱한 그래픽카드를 선택합니다.
그리고 재부팅을 하면

# shutdown -i5 -g0 -y

webstart를 실행하다가 에러를 내고
콘솔 모드로 설치가 됩니다.
(다른 방법으로 콘솔설치로 전환하는 방법을 몰라서 ^^;)
여기서 또 문제는 설치시 언어를 korean으로 하면
콘솔모드에서 설치진행중에 메시지가 깨져서 나옵니다.
몇번 설치해보신 분들은 통박으로 두번째 CD 넣으라는구나..
language CD 넣으라는 구나.. 아실테지요..
잘 모르시는 분들은 1. CD 어쩌구저쩌구 나오면 그거 고르시면 되구요
디폴트로 되어있는거 그냥 선택하시면 되구요..
여차저차해서 설치를 모두 마치면 재부팅이 됩니다.

부팅중에 설정이 잘못되었다면서 root 비번을 묻고
kdmconfig 화면으로 들어갈것입니다.
다시 아까의 16컬러를 선택하면 X가 뜨고
root로 로그인한후 netscape를 띄워서
무수한 에러 메시지(컬러가 어떻다느니 하는거니까)를 무시하고
xfee86 video driver porting kit 을 다운받아서 설치합니다.
재부팅합니다.
끝입니다.

포팅킷 설치법은 웹사이트에도 영어로 잘 나와 있고
이글 조금 밑에 제가 풀어서 써 놓은 것도 있으니 참고하시면 됩니다.

어쨌든 집에 RIVA TNT2 M64 그 기본으로 지원되는 놈을 두고
왜 Geforce2 MX200을 설치한다고 이 삽질을 했는지는
저도 잘 모르겠습니다. ^^;
