   제 목 : vmware에 솔라리스 8과 오라클 8.1.6 설치하기

우선 vmware를 실행해서 다음의 순서대로 Virtual Machine을 생성한다.
1. File->New->New Virtual Machine을 선택
2. Select the Appropriate Configuration에서 Custom 선택
3. Select a Guest Operating System에서 Other를 선택
4. Name the Virtual Machine에서 본인이 지정하고픈 이름으로 변경
5. Memory for the Virtual Machine에서 메모리 지정
6. Select a Network Connection에서 Use network address translation (NAT)를 선택
7. Select a Disk에서 Create a new virtual Disk 선택
8. Specify Disk Capacity에서 사용할 디스크 크기 지정
9. Disk File에서 본인이 생각하는 File으로 변경. (안해도 무방)
10. Finish 클릭

위와 같이 하면 Virtual Machine이 생성된다.

그런 다음에 아래의 방법처럼 한다.

1. 방금 생성된 Virtual Machine 이름을 마우스 오른쪽 버튼을 클릭해서 Settings를 선택한다.
2. DVD/CDROM 항목을 클릭한다.
3. Connection의 Use Physical Drive를 선택하고 <b>Enable Raw Access</b> 체크 박스를 선택한다. (그림 참조)
<b>반드시 체크하도록 한다. 체크를 하지 않으면 솔라리스 시디를 인식하지 못한다.</b>

솔라리스 시디 Software 1번을 시디롬에 넣고 vmware 메뉴의 Power On을 클릭하고 나서
차례대로 솔라리스를 설치를 하면 된다. (그림 참조)

오라클 인스톨을 마치고 나서 오라클을 시작한 화면이다.

몇일 동안 시행착오를 겪으면서 vmware에 솔라리스와 오라클을 설치할 수 있었다.
중요한 것은 vmware의 시디롬 설정에서 Enable Raw Access를 체크하는 것이다.
실은 이것을 체크하지 않아서 고생을 많이 했었다.
(알고 나면 하찮은 것인데... ㅎㅎㅎ)

그럼...
vmware에 솔라리스와 오라클을 설치하실려는 분들....
